US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will be in Ottawa on Friday (Feb 23) to move the North American Union process ahead. She and other representatives of the Bush administration will be meeting with representatives of Canada and Mexico, the other two 'partners' in this Corporate deal.
They will be setting the stage for the next 'heads of state' meeting between US President George Bush, Canadian PM Stephen Harper, and President Calderone of Mexico - in June in Alberta.
So far, this deal has been kept almost totally secret by Canada's
Corporate Media, which knows the details and in fact has been involved
in creating the 'Union'. The fact they are not telling Canadians about
it ... really says a lot about it.
This deal has been created,
and is being pushed, by the Corporate sector. Government's role is to
betray and sell out the citizens of the 3 countries by secretly signing
documents and agreements that lock us into a deal that is being created
by big business and that we know nothing about and have had no input
into.
The media's role is to make sure we know as little
as possible about what is going on, and are kept as far as possible
outside of the decision making loop.
Ms. Rice's
visit to the Middle East last week got a huge amount of coverage in
Canada...we will see if her visit here this week gets any coverage at
all, at least in terms of why she is really here; the North American
Union.
What is the NAU? And what is the CCCE?
The main 'Canadian' promoter of the North American Union has been the Canadian Council
of Chief Executives, an organization of the top executives of Canada's
150 biggest corporations including the banks, oil companies, car
makers, etc.
Also a part of the CCCE are the
corporations that own and control most of Canada's media. Their website
says they 'have been referred to as the world's most effective CEO
based organization...' which is a very scary thought.
They
control some $3.2 Trillion worth of assets (yes, with a T) and have
annual revenues in excess of $750 billion, more I think than the
revenues of Canada's federal and provincial governments.
In
January 2003, the CCCE launched the North American Security and
Prosperity Initiative; a deal signed by Bush, Paul Martin, and Vincente
Fox of Mexico in 2005, and which is fundamental to the NAU.
Here's what their website says about it: "In March 2005, the leaders of Canada, the United
States and Mexico launched the Security and Prosperity Partnership of
North America,a comprehensive agreement that advances the North
American agenda in a multitude of concrete and practical ways that will
improve the safety and economic wellbeing of Canadians and of our
neighbours in North America."
It's so nice that they are
thinking of our safety and wellbeing, and signing agreement to take
care of us... it's just too bad they didn't bother to tell us about it.
Some
of the 'strategies' involved include REINVENTING BORDERS; A NORTH
AMERICAN DEFENCE ALLIANCE; and A COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCE SECURITY PACT,
whatever that means.
Members of the Canadian
Council of Chief Executives include: Alcan (one of the world's great
environmental destroyers), Accenture (of Enron fame), BCE (a main owner
of CTV and the Globe and Mail), the big banks, CanWest Global (which
owns the TC here in Victoria, the Sun and Province in Vancouver, and
many other tv and newspaper assets of our 'free press'), Dow Chemical
of Agent Orange fame, DuPont (which played a major and deliberate role
in the destruction of the ozone layer); Telus (the porn company) and on
and on.
These corporations pose a clear and present danger
to our democracy and our planet and they must be reined in before they
destroy everything. They are already to blame for climate change, the
poisoning of all of us, the contamination of our food supply,
homelessness and poverty, and on and on. Who knows where this latest
part of their plan is going to get us.
We have to stop them and 2 methods of doing so are supporting democracy and supporting independent media wherever possible...
We also have to confront the politicians and media who support this
secret deal and call them the corrupt liars that they are, and at the
same time support those who are opposed to this.
