SHORTS BINGE LINE-UP ANNOUNCED

VICTORIA, B.C. – The Sierra Club’s Energy Film Fest takes place this weekend and the line-up for Sunday’s mysterious “Shorts Binge” has just been announced.  If you need a rapid dose of info on a variety of energy-related topics, this is the screening for you.

Shorts Binge – Sunday, February 18th at 9PM

French Fries to Go is a funny and hopeful short film that documents the origins of Telluride, Colorado's Biodiesel project, and features cameos by Daryl Hannah, Dennis Weaver and Dr. Andrew Weil. (15 minutes)

The Climate of Change – Narrated by Robert Redford, this short joins 35 US mayors as they journey to Alaska to witness the effects of global warming firsthand.  The mayors also discuss how climate change is affecting their communities and what they’re doing to address it. (14 minutes)

The True Cost of Food Food issues are heavy. This animated video takes a light approach to explaining the hidden costs of mass-produced food and about alternatives that are kinder to the planet. (15 minutes)

Narrated by Cameron Diaz, Power Shift explores the remarkable ways energy touches our daily lives. Meet activists from around the world and learn personal action steps you can take to reduce global warming. (26 minutes)

So come on out, and bring your friends, family, neighbours, co-workers – whoever you can get your hands on. Watch intriguing films, learn something new, and then get out there and make you choices count.

The Sierra Club Energy Film Festival takes place at 7PM & 9PM on February 16th, 17th & 18th at St. Ann’s Academy (835 Humboldt Street).
