Royal Dutch Shell has ambitions to drill for coal-bed methane gas in an area of Tahltan traditional territory known as the Sacred Headwaters. The Klabona Keepers, an organization of elders and their families, have managed to keep Shell at bay by coordinating blockades and recently, gaining an injunction against Shell - but the fight is taking its toll. This past summer, the Klabona Keepers put out a call for help to the international conservation community to help them protect their land. Dogwood Initiative is part of a growing coalition of groups that intends to do so.
