In ten years, Iran will be unable to export oil (dramatically cutting their revenues), because of growing domestic demand, and the inability to charge market rates at home. By the way, the last thing the US will do is invade Iran. Instead, it is a strategic bombing campaign that the White House undoubtedly wants to conduct. Furthermore, such an aerial bombardment would be catastrophic to Iran's economy, especially since the US is blackballing them from the international banking system. Finally, I think that the Bush administration has a phobia against admitting fault, so it naturally wants to blame Syria, Iran, al Qaeda, al-Sadr, and anyone or anything but their own stupidity, incompetence, and hubris.
