Affirmative Action My Foot!

Your argument about Barack is a false one! If people vote for Barack it will be because voters believe in him, and feel he is qualified! If you recall, there have been black candidates before him who did not win the democratic primary. According to your theory, voters should have "already" elected a black candidate before due to their race. My question is, where is the affirmative action when blacks in general; have voted for more white candidates than whites have black candidates? So, in my book, if Barack wins this primary it will be because he has "earned" it!

Another Article of Fodder

4/5 news stories say the same things about Democratic candidates: Hillary flip flops, Obama is inexperienced. These claims, offered with no evidence to back it up, reflects the sad state of our media these days.

Why don't you read something about the candidates before posting these "news" articles that contribute absolutely NOTHING novel to the debate. Why not discuss the stances of the candidates? Why not discuss Obama's stances on reforming bankruptcy law? On his plans for healthcare reform by means of subsidies to the those most at risk and automatic employee enrollment in 401(K)'s, both bring down premiums and making the governments spending more efficient? Why not discuss his desire to repeal the upper class tax cuts, and reinstate the estaste tax?

The point is not that you must agree with all or any of these ideas, but rather that the debate should not be about broad themes such as experience (which has historically proven to be the most over emphasized characteristic of Presidents; think Abe with his one House term and failed senate bid); but about who has the ideas and principles to restore the nation's standing as an example to be strived for.

So please, for all our sanities, stop posting this fodder, do some research, and write a real news article. - a guest

The point(s)against Hillary is that she has "more different personalities than Sybil". She has not ture stance on anything, and not the guts to back up what she does. She bends to the will of whomever has the most moeny, or talks the biggest. I do not believe that is what I want in a president. I am a woman, and I am all for a woman president, but not this woman. Obama may be black, but if he is strong and his politics are straight, he should be the president. Lets not forget that the Democratic pary has many diverse choices for president, which is refreshing to see. Mind you, I am not a democrat, I choose neither side to be loyal to, but the diversity is a refreshing change. - a guest

Barack Obama is the Most Qualified.

What does affirmative action have to do with Barack Obama? He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law School, was the editor of its law review and has written one not one, but two of the best receives books in America. In other words, the man is brilliant, expresses his ideas in a clear fashion and knows how to inspire people. These are all qualities that make a person great for the Presidency.

If you want to talk about Affirmative Action, I suggest you turn your attention to the current White-Man-In-Chief. Talk about Affirmative Action! Yale, HBS, Arbusto Oil, the Texas Rangers, The White House...Want to write about Affirmative Action? Write an article on the current idiot white guy running the country instead of the brilliant black man who should be running it.

Let us endeavour to see the trees and also the forest.

Should not, the question be whether America's voting machines and supreme court judges are ready to set a precedent and "elect" a PRESIDENT that can elevate it from the resource rich morass of stench, death and destruction.

We shall see what we shall see.

What do Americans really WANT? Experience, influence, a white woman, a black man, a family name, a bumbling puppet whose strings can be yanked by offshore influences and multi-million dollar corporations?

I suspect real Americans would some day WANT to wake up to a country that could once again make them proud of their president, their fellow Americans and the peoples of the rest of the world.

So choose accordingly.

Good luck. - a guest

Leader of the Free World

Is there a free world to lead? If there is, I doubt that any of the Democratic or Republican candidates would qualify. First, you must have a respect for law and democracy. They all have, along with Bush, displayed considerable contempt for it. But they all look good on TV - they are marketable. Experience hardly matters. Look at Bush. What kind of a CV did he have when he first became president?

Naw, all you gotta be is a corporate team player. You'll get lots of direction. - a guest

Just a Quick Question

Do you think that maybe lack of experience that some of the candidates have might be beneficial? It could mean he's not too over his head in the fame. It could also mean that with the squeaky clean record, he'll have a lot more people expecting a squeaky clean presidency and one that won't be a Bush repeat. Am i right in thinking it or just naive in hoping? - a guest
