It's a superb little book, and your resources are the inspiration that makes this article worth sharing...My point: the education system fails terribly.Ther seems to be none, or rare, pleasant humor. The curriculum has redability interest to a tiny-fraction of those we cart-off from the Earth. Once parents in this country grieved about the youthful-damage. A parent's land-economy suffered if all youth were not windrowing (sp) hay, wheat, etc. corn-picking or timely in field (Fields were preserving and listening to community tales) digging potato/patatoes. At the center of the story by Laurel Kendall, assistent curator in charge of Asian ethnographic collection at the American Museum of Natural History) Kendal interweaves historic misadventures and the sad eventual spirits 'taking her off this Earth. A life of poverty, deprivation and danger, wronged---but never crushed! All I am trying to say--good read. And we sure have let illegitimate Master-Goofs lead down the path to nothing/nowher. I, in moments of pure "madness" throughout my life, have had thoughts and sensations very similar, if not exact, to the ones you described. I guess the old adage, "that's too easy", is pretty appropriate when you consider just how simple, how easy and how impossible turning this whole mess of corporate soul-smashing would actually be. People, these days, are so much more craven and cowardly than they have ever been. The only real gods in our society today are what "they" think of you and money. The christianists, the zionists and so many other "religious" groups today are so neolithic and barbaric in their "thought" patterns of fear and their desperate need to "belong" to group-think that I really believe that is why we see the attrocities so gleefully carried out amongst us in the name of whatever anthropomorphacized higher power that these poor, weak-minded sycophants are foamong at the mouth about this week. It's ALWAYS easier to blame some external or mystical force for your own crimes and makes it easier to keep the ties with your humanity neatly at arm's length if not altogether severed.
