Capitalism is in serious crisis.USSR has fallen due to its state monopoly. Capitalism will fall soon due to private monopolies. Labour force has to forget about working as labourers. New system having everyone means of production for himself and his family (self-employment) will be the new mantra. The industrial revolution has completed the cycle of damaging the nature and human race. Mankind is in serious danger of survival as there is a race to have wars for capitalist countries to survive. The need to reverse the industrial revolution, though greatly painful for capitalists, cannot be overstressed. Days are numbered for collapse of capitalist economic system. Marxism has been vanished and now is the turn of capitalism. Many economists do not talk about third way or option because they are in employment of some capitalists as such they have to keep the bosses happy. Prof. Samuelson has rightly called these fellows as "Kept men". I am happy you could understand the seriousness of the present global economic crisis. However, you may have to walk a few more steps to see the solution after the fall of capitalism. We will have to go back to the natural laws instead of taking shelter under man-made or legislated laws (joint stock companies with limited liabilities, patents, monopolistic privileges, trade marks, brands and all that). Economic equality is talked by all economists but no one has courage to say to eliminate monopoly laws which create economic inequalities. Marx rightly says, laws which divide the society are irrational and immoral, as such they are not sustainable. The system has to fall. But he himself forgot this mantra when he made state monopoly laws in his economic theory. He created class wars between capitalists and labour. It has shown the results in fall of Marxism. Apply this to capitalism too. We have developed the third economic model based on self-employment, "truly free" competition after repealing all monopoly laws.It assures 100% employment, equal share in national wealth, no exploitation of any kind, retaining full value-added with the producer (self employed), no inflation and less taxation. There is no alternative to this economic theory. I can share the details of this new economic model for further discussion. - a guest
