Israel's lawless settlements project. Since June 1967, Israel has maintained total domination over Occupied Palestine. Israel lawlessly controls borders and essential Palestinian resources, air space and Gaza's coastal waters, as well as Palestinian political, economic and financial activities and internal movement, public assembly and speech. Israel also appoints itself controller of Palestine's population registry, private property and land. http://sjlendman.blogspot.com/2012/04/israels-lawless-settlement-project.html

Ron Paul backs Jerusalem instead of Tel Aviv as location for US embassy to Israel. "How would we like it if some other nation said 'We decided to recognise New York City as your capital instead, so we will build our embassy there?'" Paul has announced support for a position that previously only Newt Gingrich had held on the Israeli state. Astonishingly, Ron Paul puts Israel's interests ahead of those of the US. According to a transcript of a meeting obtained by Business Inside, Ron Paul told evangelical leaders in the US: “The real issue here is not what America wants, but what does Israel want, if Israel wants their capital to be Jerusalem, then the United States should honour that.” Paul’s position places him closer to the pro-Israel camp and further away from the Palestinians than even President Obama’s own State Department, which has previously refused to acknowledge that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. http://news.yahoo.com/ron-paul-backs-jerusalem-location-israeli-embassy-061056986.html

Stand-over tactics: 'US will veto any Palestinian statehood bid at UN' The United States will continue to act against Palestinian attempts to gain recognition through the United Nations and, if necessary, will use its veto to that end, US ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro said Monday. Speaking at the Netanya Academic College, Shapiro said that there are no short cuts to peace in the Middle East, and the Palestinians must return to direct negotiations with Israel without preconditions, on the basis of what was outlined by US President Barack Obama. http://www.jpost.com/DiplomacyAndPolitics/Article.aspx?id=266246

Palestine Human Rights Campaign Aotearoa/New Zealand (PHRC)
Declaration
We believe that a just peace in Palestine/Israel depends upon the return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland and the dismantling of the Zionist structure of the state of Israel, recognising that the further partitioning of Palestine in order to create the so-called two-state solution would lead only to further injustice and suffering.
We advocate the primacy of international law, the acceptance of which by the Israeli regime must be the basis for the ending of Israeli military occupation and all forms of ethnic discrimination.
We work to raise awareness of the international community's responsibility for upholding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the urgent need for the state of Israel to be called to account for its gross abuses of Palestinian human rights.
We call for the establishment of a unitary, secular and democratic state in Palestine/Israel, with full and equal citizenship rights for Palestinians, Israeli Jews and all other ethnic communities.
The Palestine Human Rights Campaign Aotearoa/New Zealand (PHRC) works to raise public awareness of the Palestinian people's struggle to resist Israeli military occupation and Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip. PHRC seeks to bring pressure on the New Zealand Government to join the majority of the international community in requiring Israel to:
-
observe all relevant UN Resolutions and Geneva conventions
-
cease ethnic discrimination and territorial annexation
-
abandon its militarism and violence
