URGENT: Picket of Minister of Censorship and Deportation Jason Kenney
by NOII
Minister of Censorship and Deportation Jason Kenney will be in Vancouver as part of his bogus cross-Canada consultations on 'appropriate' immigration levels. On Tuesday afternoon, he is speaking at the Vancouver Board of Trade about how immigration can serve business and corporate interests. We don't have the $100 per person to hear Kenney spew his racist lies and propaganda about so-called illegals abusing the system, so join us for a picket outside.

Under Kenney, deportations have increased, while the number of people accepted as refugees and sponsored family members have drastically dropped. Most recently, using the guise of human smuggling and deterring the arrival of boats such as the MV Sun Sea, Bill C-4 has been introduced to blatantly criminalize refugees and target them for imprisonment and/or deportation.

The kind of migration that has increased under Kenney has been the most precarious class of temporary migrant workers who are constantly exploited for their labour. For more information, read our factsheet on Kenney and Tories Record on Immigration:
