This Week on GR
by C. L. Cook
This Week: Shawn Buckley is a constitutional lawyer with special expertise in the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations of Canada. He has taken up the mantle for Natural Health Product manufacturers, and has beaten back Health Canada's relentless efforts to encroach upon the right of Canadians to access alternatives to Big Pharma's near healthcare monopoly.

Shawn Buckley on Bill C-36, the epitaph for Canadian freedom in the first half.

And; escalating violence in Gaza and the West Bank is an ominous portent of a broader and more deadly conflagration to come in the Middle East.

Ramzy Baroud is a Palestinian-American journalist, author, and Editor-in-Chief  for the Palestine Chronicle. His book titles include: 'Searching Jenin: Eyewitness Accounts of the Israeli Invasion,' 'The Second Intifada: A Chronicle of a People's Struggle,' and his latest is, 'My Father was a Freedom Figher: Gaza's Untold Story.'

Ramzy Baroud and declaring Palestine in the second half.

And; Victoria Street Newz publisher and CFUV broadcaster, Janine Bandcroft will join us at the bottom of the hour to bring us up to speed with some of the goings on within Victoria's street community and beyond. But first, Shawn Buckley and Bill C-36's ill prescription for Canadian rights and good health.

5:00:00        3:00    Welcome to GR, etc. And welcome back to your busy schedules following the holiday break. The Winter break is an interesting one for those following the political doings of the state and its sponsors in the corporate sphere. It is a time so favoured by those plotting legal mischief to introduce and pass legislation quietly, while the people are distracted. And so it was, on a snowy night in December, while sugar plum fancies filled Canadian heads, the nation's Senate gave final approval of Bill C-36, effectively allowing the dismantling of nearly eight centuries of English jurisprudence. Canadians are no longer protected by the Magna Carta, the set of laws the tyrant King John was forced by an outraged people to sign so long ago. What the New Government of Canada has wrought through Bill C-36, with support from all parties in the House, is the birth of a new dark age; the beginnings a New Age of Tyranny.

Shawn Buckley is a constitutional lawyer with special expertise in the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations of Canada. He has taken up the mantle for Natural Health Product manufacturers, and has beaten back Health Canada's relentless efforts to encroach upon the right of Canadians to access alternatives to Big Pharma's near healthcare monopoly. Buckley toured Canada with the Natural Health Products Protection Association late last year in a final ditch effort to educate Canadians about the risks posed by C-36, with the hope the citizenry could pressure the Senate to soberly reconsider the negative effects of this odious bill and stop its passage.

And; escalating violence in Gaza and the West Bank is an ominous portent of a broader and more deadly conflagration to come in the Middle East. Nearing the fourth anniversary of the Hamas party political victory in Palestine, there has been nothing but dispossession, misery and death to report that benighted land. Both the Israeli state, and its citizenry has, and continues to, commit serial crimes against humanity in the Occupied Territories, making  hopes for a peaceful resolution to the decades old conflict seem more remote by the day.

Ramzy Baroud is a Palestinian-American journalist, author, and Editor-in-Chief  for the Palestine Chronicle. "Welcome to the program, Shawn. I'd like to begin with a preview of Bill C-36 in action, the case of Courtenay, B.C.'s Marigold Compounding Pharmacy: How is this case emblematic of all you and the NHPPA have warned Canadians against?"

Welcome back to GR, etc. Escalating violence in Gaza and the West Bank is an ominous portent of a broader and more deadly conflagration to come in the Middle East.

"Welcome back to the program, Ramzy. A half-dozen countries in South America have now recognized the nation of Palestine; what is the relevance of that recognition?"

5:59:00        1:00    Thanks to Shawn Buckley, Ramzy Baroud, J9; upcoming.
